Is Khata Billing free billing software for PC?
Yes. The free plan never expires: up to 10 GST invoices a day (100 in any 30 days), POS on 2 screens, stock and basic reports on your PC or laptop. Premium removes the limits for ₹1,499/year, or ₹999/year with code SAVE500.
Do I need to download an .exe file?
No. Khata Billing runs in Chrome or Edge on Windows, Mac or Linux. If you want it in the taskbar like a normal program, install it from the browser in one click — there is no setup file to download.
Does Khata Billing work offline?
No. Khata Billing is cloud software, so the PC needs an internet connection while you bill. In return your data is not stuck on one computer: it is backed up online and the same account opens on any PC, laptop or phone.
What happens to my data if my computer breaks?
Nothing is lost. Invoices, items and parties are stored in your Khata Billing account, not on the PC. Log in on another computer or on the mobile app and carry on.
Can I use a thermal printer and barcode scanner on my PC?
Yes. Print invoices on A4 or a thermal printer from the browser, and scan item barcodes with a scanner to add them to the bill.
Can I use it on more than one PC?
Yes. Even the free plan has no limit on the number of PCs, laptops or phones you log in from. Premium adds staff logins with role permissions and up to 20 POS billing counters.
